There is an entire forum here for hibernation that you can check out to see what others do along with temp info. ![]() To brumate but it may just cause stess depending on how cold and how long it stays cold even with artificial heat. I have heard of people keeping res outside yr in parts of the country where the temps do not dip as low with no problems but if you are artificially heating the tank it won't likely get cold enough. It sounds like your weather is alo t warmer so temps will not likely go down enough for them to go into full brumation. As the temps drop they stop eating and slow down. ![]() ![]() ![]() They are extremely hardy and I haven't had any issues. I keep my RES turtles outside year round in Colorado and allow them to brumate.
